🌿 Overview
Robin is a Legendary rarity utility pet in Grow a Garden 2 built around a trade-off: it flies around your own garden and eats fully-grown ripe fruit, then has a chance to drop a seed in its place. You lose the sell value of the eaten crop, but you gain a free seed to replant — usually common or uncommon rarity. At only 75,000 Sheckles and a 2.86% wild spawn chance, Robin is one of the most accessible Legendary pets and a common early pick for players still building up their farm.
🌱 Robin Ability
🌱 Fruit-for-Seeds Trade (Passive in garden)
While equipped and you’re standing in your own garden, Robin has roughly a 1% chance per second to scan for ripe fruit within a 30-stud range. Once it locks on, the trashing animation takes about 3 seconds, after which the fruit is consumed. A seed then drops 8–30 seconds later (averaging ~19s), and the seed is usually common or uncommon rarity — it does not have to match the crop that was eaten. After each successful trash, Robin enters a 30-second cooldown before it can scan again. Whether Robin’s seeds can ever roll rare or higher is not fully documented.
⚠️ Note: Robin only acts inside your own garden — it won’t trigger while you’re out exploring the map. Higher-rarity fruit appears to have a lower seed-drop chance, so it tends to convert common crops most often.
🏆 How to Get Robin
1
Save 75,000 Sheckles

Robin is cheap compared to other Legendary pets, so most players can afford it early without much grinding.

2
Watch the map for a 2.86% spawn

Robin appears with a countdown timer like other map pets. Keeping an Owl active helps you notice spawns faster.

3
Buy it before someone else does

On busy servers, rival players can grab it first. Move quickly once you see the spawn timer.

4
Or hatch a Common Egg

Robin can also hatch from the Common Egg, giving a second route that skips the map entirely.

Verdict: Deer is the stronger pure-income pick for new players since faster growth compounds every harvest. Robin is better once you have a steady crop diversity problem to solve and don’t mind losing a few fruit to seed drops.
💡 Robin Tips & Strategies
🌾
Keep your plots full

Robin can only trigger on ripe fruit. If your garden is mostly empty or unripe, it has nothing to act on.

👀
Pair with an Owl

Owl improves your chance of noticing rare map spawns, including Robin itself, so you don’t miss the timer.

⏱️
Don’t expect a guaranteed swap

The seed drop isn’t tied to the exact crop eaten and isn’t guaranteed every trash. Treat it as a slow bonus, not a 1:1 trade.

🥚
Try the Common Egg route

If the map spawn keeps missing you, hatching Common Eggs is a steady backup way to land a Robin.
