🐸 Frog
Utility Pet · Common Rarity · Common Egg / Wild Spawn
- Raiding fenced gardens at night
- Reaching tall crops (tall plants, trees)
- Getting around obstacles faster
- Budget early-game companion
- No crop income bonus at all
- Gets replaced by income pets mid-game
- Jump is its only ability — nothing else
- Situational value vs Bunny speed
Frog has one of the highest spawn rates in the game at 11.9%, tied with Bunny. It appears with a countdown timer. At just 10,000 Sheckles, you can grab it within your first few minutes of playing.
The Frog is the cheapest purchasable pet in Grow a Garden 2. Even brand new players with only a few harvests under their belt can afford it.
Walk it to your garden plot. The jump height bonus becomes active immediately once placed.
The Frog also hatches from the Common Egg (obtained via Guild rank rewards). An easy backup source if wild spawns are being snatched by other players.
| Variant | Jump Bonus | Source | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frog (Normal) | +5 Jump Height | Egg / Wild 11.9% | ✅ Confirmed |
| Big Frog | +10 Jump Height | Rare wild spawn | ✅ Confirmed |
| Huge Frog | TBA | Extremely rare spawn | ⚠ TBA |
The Frog is your very first affordable pet. Get it in your first session and then save up for the Bunny (20K) and Deer (50K). There is no reason not to own one at this price.
When raiding other players’ gardens, fences and walls slow you down significantly without a jump bonus. The Frog lets you hop over most obstacles quickly, which is the difference between a clean getaway and getting caught.
Some crops grow very tall in GAG2. The Frog’s jump boost lets you harvest the top sections of tall plants more reliably without needing to find a climbing angle.
The Frog has no crop income bonus. Once you have enough Sheckles for income-boosting pets like the Deer or Golden Dragonfly, replace the Frog’s slot. Keep one Frog ready for steal builds though.
